Luscious, vibrantly-coloured Chiyogami papers are hand-printed using the silk-screen technique. 

This pattern is called Akikusa - The Plants of Autumn

In this process, each colour is applied using a separate screen. Sometimes as many as 12 colours, including gold or other metallics, may be used to create a single pattern.

Akikusa is a traditional Japanese floral collection of 7 autumn plants, and is also found in fabrics for kimono.
